The Ukraine Ripple Effect: Impacts of the Ukraine Conflict on US Foreign Policy

Since 2022, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the US’s support of Ukraine have been the foci of many political scientists and policy experts. However, the US’s role in the conflict has had far-reaching impacts on US foreign policy beyond Ukraine and even Europe in general, which have received much less attention. How do the US’s other global partners perceive the US’s support for Ukraine? How has the US’s prioritization of this issue on its foreign policy agenda impacted its other commitments? In this panel, we examine the impact of the US’s role in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine on its relationships with its partners in regions beyond Europe.
