Nintendo thought the motion controlls added enough controll, and for alott of games it seems enough. They did release the classic controller that you attached to the same connector as the num chuck.

I thought the 360 controller had L3 and R3? I recall being able to press in the joysticks (which is L3 and R3)
Loved this controler. Modded one to have the chabging dpad and keyboard was optional an extra addon. 16 buttons usable by games, adding the guide one would be 17. The original xbox controller had variable a,b,x and y buttons btw, from 0 to 255 🫨☺️ nothing seems standard
