Found mine and my grandfather's father calipper (schuifmaat, dutch). Dad dint reconsize the tool at all, might have been used to help build the replica "De Arend" steam locomotive in the Netherlands (but i cant verify). (Replica was build in 1939 to celebrate 100 years dutch railways.)
