Arrived in the town of Pennan. Famous for its role in the 1983 film “Local Hero”. Also the location of my family’s long destroyed castle the Auchmeddan estate.

The Auchmeddan estate was located in a valley leading down to the town. Some small parts still remain of the estate, such as the Auchmeddan mill (called Nethermill now), a bridge built by the Baird and Garden families, and a church.
