Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for Disclosure Day (2026) - Spielberg continues his run of pretty great 2020s movies with a film that comments on (and is in conversation with) his other alien contact movies, Evil Dead Burn (2026) - my least favorite of the series yet it still delivered some of the top notch ED gags and gore you’d expect, Boots and the Preacher (1972) - a previously thought lost Hicksploitation “classic” that is a little aimless but it’s sweaty down home vibes carry it through its short running time, and Paradise of Terror (1965) a horror movie filmed in the Philippines that’s beautifully shot and really packs a punch despite its low budget. It’s a minor miracle of 60s horror cinema that deserves a bigger reputation.

Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for Tenebre (1982) my umpteenth viewing of the Argento classic, Macabre (1980) Lamberto Bavas feature film debut that tells the moving story of a relationship between a mother and her daughter, Tough Guys Don’t Dance (1987) a first time watch for me of a film that is totally unhinged and a new favorite, and The Death of Robin Hood (2926) a better movie than word of mouth would lead you to believe, check it out when you get an opportunity.

Images of the posters for The Furious (2026) - the hype is real and this is a straight up action classic, The Mangler (1995) - a goofy late period Tobe Hooper movie that has some 90s video store charm to it, Human Lanterns (1982) - a awesome mix of Shaw Brothers Wuxia action and goopy 80s horror, and At Close Range (1986) - a crime thriller with excellent performances and solid directing from James Foley,

Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for Adam and Eve (1983) - a mind melting Italian exploitation film that has to be seen to be believed. Wildwood, NJ (1994) - this is a great documentary exploring the lives of young women summering on the Jersey shore. Mall City (1983) this doc focuses on early 80s shopping mall culture in Long Island, NY. Girls at the Carnival (1998) - a short slice of life time capsule that was shot by three young women with a video camera searching for fun on a summers night. All 3 docs can be found on the recently released Wildwood, NJ Blu-ray.
Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for Total Recall (1990) - an all time classic… open your mind, The Degenerates (1966) - the better half of an Andy Milligan double feature I watched that also included Compass Rose (1967), and Obsession (2026).

Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for The Terminator (1984) - the first R rated video my folks let me rent and it’s still my favorite James Cameron film, Faces of Death (1978) - watched the new 4K with the director’s commentary, I Love Boosters (2026) - this movie is a wild mess but I loved every minute of it, and Marie Antionette (2006) - an exciting take on the historical epic with an excellent soundtrack, a first time watch.
Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971), Dr. Phibes Rises Again (1972), The Degenerate: The Life and Films of Andy Milligan (2025), and The Match-Stick Flame 3: Red Mafia (2026).
Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for Mutant (1984) - a tepid horror flick with an unusually subdued Wings Hauser performance, Snake Eyes (1985) - the lead in this is giving off major end of Goodfellas Ray Liotta vibes, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy (2026) - I thought it was enjoyably silly fun, and Intensive Care (1991) - just my opinion but George Kennedy is a terrible doctor.
Letterboxd Friday. Images of the posters for Alien (1979) - Still pops with tension and scares no matter how many times I’ve seen it, Aliens (1986) - while it doesn’t top the original for me it is still a super satisfying sequel, The Hobbit (1977) - better than anything in PJs there and back again misfires, and A New Leaf (1971) - a hbd Elaine May first time watch.

Images of the posters for Eddington (2025) - one of 2025s best movies, The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1995) - way better than I remembered and first rewatch since the VHS days, Prey (2022) - Amber Midthunder is a real deal movie star, and Cast a Deadly Spell (1991) - a goofy good time carried by the great character actor Fred Ward.
Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for The Killer (1989) a rewatch of this all time John Woo classic on the big screen, There’s Something About Mary (1998) first time seeing this since its initial run and it was kinda disappointing, David Byrne’s American Utopia (2020) this film version of Byrnes Broadway show is incredible, and Twister (1996) first time watch. Bill Paxton rules, but this movie is pretty lackluster and boring.
Letterboxd Friday. Last four watched. Images of the posters for The Devil at Your Heels (1981) - a first time watch. This doc blew me away. A classic. Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) - I just might like this even more than the first. Longlegs (2024) and Black Phone 2 (2025).

Images of the posters for Demonwarp (1988) - A wild mishmash of 80s horror tropes that delivers the goods, The Hunters of the Golden Cobra (1982) - fun Italian Indiana Jonesploitation, 1000 Woman in Horror (2025) - documentary based on the excellent Alexandra Heller-Nicholas book, and The Devils Bride (1974) - this psychedelic rock opera based on a Lithuanian folktale is unbelievable great.
