This thing is an Elcotel Eclipse. It was sold as a competitor to the Nortel Millenium. Basically think of it as the Top Dog of what payphones could offer. You got a screen, credit cards, calling cards, options for data jacks. Compared to the old phones with just a keypad, it's a huge improvement.

Opening it up, it's definitely still a payphone inside. This has an electronic coin validator, a 6V SLA battery or settings and a Smart Board in the back.
