Literal dealership spyware removed successfully! It's a third party GPS tracker. When I bought the car, they tried adding a $2k surcharge for the service, saying it can't be removed so we threatened to walk and they said OK we won't charge you for it but it's already installed.

This happened to me. Mine isn't on the odb port, it's physically attached to the battery harness under the hood. The service they tried to upsell me was called "Stargard".

how the fuck is this legal

It basically MITMs the ODB port. Apparently, if you don't drive your car for like a month, it can fully drain your car battery. It was just 2 screws and a couple pinch clips to get access to it, and you just pop out the spy one and plug back in the factory one.
