this is exactly how I feel about being trans and queer. my life is not for the consumption or enjoyment of cis, straight people, and I refuse to make it more palatable to them, because it doesn't actually affect them in the slightest.

Some years ago, I read a wonderful quote from him regarding the bravery of effeminate men. It's always stayed with me: "Boys like that had balls. They had paved the way for the rest of us in the gay community, often taking a bruising so the rest of us could stand up and be counted."

We're not here to make 'nice' and 'straightify' our fucking lives to let the bigots smile in comfort. They DO NOT and MUST NOT rule our fucking lives, and we need to get the rest of the community to wake the fuck up to the facts!!
