Social Security is one of those programs in the US that seems to be designed to make people feel like they're doing something self-sufficient when they're not. If people got back what they put in with interest, it would be a solvent system, which it isn't. It's always been something of a pyramid scheme, and now that growth has slowed and people are living longer, that's become painfully obvious and we have to admit what it really is (an entitlement, not insurance) or people will starve. coreypsc 9m If you make over $80k a year, you're only getting 15% of that back up to $180k when you stop getting money back at all (or paying in).This is why Republicans have wanted to privatize social security. I should really just unfriend Facebook because it's the one incentivizing, making money off of, him blindly sharing lies. They prefer it that way. Mark Zuckerberg can stammer through congressional hearings, but the reality is, Facebook has developed algorithms that engage best with low-thought, knee-jerk posts, and l'm tired of helping for free.
