Cuneyt Ozdas @cozdas.com · Dec 20 Recently we bought an QD-OLED TV. I wanted to see how the quantum dot differs from the few other wide-gamut displays I have, so measured their white emission spectrum. I haven't done proper white point calibration so ignore the relative heights of the peaks. 1/5

First noticeable thing is BG-R LED backlights have very spiky spectrum, that's KSF Phosphor absorbing some of the green and blue led light and re-emitting in red region. Thanks to quantum dots QD-OLED provides not only smooth, also a narrow emission there, meaning purer red tones. 2/5
