Transformative Mining and Alternatives Panels Mining on Unceded Territories Thurs March 6th, 7-8:30pm Join on Zoom As Yukon mineral legislation is being re-written, join us to explore the history and future of mining, and alternatives, on unceded Indigenous Lands in the territory. This is the first of four public panels that will discuss the future of mining and its alternatives in the Yukon. Panelists include: Testloa Smith (Kaska Elder), Josh Barichello (RRDC Lands Department), Anne Maje Raider (Kaska Elder, Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society), and Linda McDonald (LFN member, Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society)

We hold you in our thoughts and send our support, love, and strength during this difficult time. Jimmy was raised in the traditional ways of hunting, fishing, and trapping. Despite the hardships of residential school, he carried his knowledge forward. At 16, he first encountered the Peel Watershed, a place that shaped his life's work. He became one of the territory's most respected hunting guides, sharing a deep connection to the land. His passion for wildlife led to a love of photography, capturing the beauty of the land and animals. Jimmy was a dedicated protector of the land and water, speaking out for the conservation of the Peel Watershed. "Especially the water," he said, "I want to see it protected. If it wasn't for the water, we wouldn't be here talking to each other." His wisdom, teachings, and commitment to the land will live on in the hearts of those he inspired. The FNNND Office is closed today (essential services will continue to be provided) and the Dinner & Dialogue tonight will be cancelled until further notice. FIRST NATION OF NACHO NYAK DUN"
