sunrise Spring Equinox 2026, Roisin Markham lives 20 minutes drive inland from this great blooded hill of the 1798 rising. This is the first time she has visited the monument at Spring Equinox and surprised to feel the dark sense of the monument as a mausoluem. Roisin had not sensed nor seen that there before. She has been visiting the monument since 2007. The image creates a pause point in the celtic calendar of the spring equinox, in the centre of the image a line of bare deciduous trees are silhouetted against a rising sun colours of orange and yellow and pink reflect in the polished concrete entrance of the monument at Oulart Hill, Wexford the monument entrance is a slit in the landscape that is aligned to the equinoxes. the sky above the punctuation of tree moves from white to blue and below the trees green grass to the entrance walkway.
