OMEGA “CB” JONES! @critbard.com · Jun 15 MTG question! If Nettlecyst is cast while Ultron is out and the 2 is paid to make a copy of it... since it's not a creature, the token would BECOME one. Most equipment creatures have Reconfigure but what would be the ruling here? Would it be attached to the germ AND still be a creature itself?

IIRC, if an equipment becomes a creature due to an outside effect and said effect doesn't grant it reconfigure, it would fall off the equipped creature. In this case, token makes germ to attach, token becomes own creature, slides off germ, germ goes poof
I am not 100%, but I think you get a 2/2 Nettlecyst copy that can attach to other creatures.
It would create the germ, then fall off as it becomes a creature itself causing the germ to die
