6. Change energy efficiency grant schemes. Include more smart technology in grant funding. Measure performance and resolve issues. Require post-installation advice and support.
5. Set up a national smart energy advice network. To benefit fully, people need access to free and impartial energy advice from knowledgeable and competent advisors.
4. Develop training, resources and ongoing support for smart energy advisors. Energy advice organisations need to upskill through training, resources for clients and ongoing peer-to-peer support.
3. Create long term funding for local energy advice organisations. Local advice organisations are well-positioned to support engagement in the energy transition, but they need long term funding to effectively plan ahead.
2. Make smart tariffs inclusive and accessible. Standardise and share data for comparisons. Encourage a wider range of smart tariffs. Reform the distribution of energy costs.
