Post by MLS_Analyst Leitch was notoriously the worst communicator among front-office types in MLS history. I've had agents call me begging me to tweet shit about how he's ruining transfer deals b/c he literally wouldn't answer the phone (this is why Cowell went to Chivas instead of Europe), and had CSOs tell me they tried to make trades with the Quakes but just couldn't reach the guy. Most teams don't screw this up b/c they hire people who actually read contracts and talk to players/agents/front office personnel. The Quakes decided to go in a different direction with that.
Question: Do you think today’s founders have to move in this more libertarian direction to survive in this industry? Answer: They don’t even have to move. I talk to young founders these days and for them, there’s no other world than the Trump world. I ask them what inspired them to go into tech and they say they read Marc Andreessen’s manifesto, they read Peter Thiel’s books, and I think, “Oh, your brain’s cooked.” They come in pre-pickled. But everyone else who could have told an alternate narrative has been hounded out of the industry.
