This is a big part of why NASCAR was so mad about SRX and why NASCAR wanted teams to give them some power over IP in charter negotiations. Teams using the same IP could lead to confusion in the product. Which I get, but at the same time, that's the team and drivers property to identify themselves.

But it doesn't work because it'd be like the NBA trying to tell Michael Jordan (coincidental example) that he couldn't use the Air Jordan logo on his baseball equipment when he went to play baseball. Its IP that identifies HIM, not the NBA.
