A recipe for Swedish Christmas Rice (Risgehnsgröt) submitted to a clearly aged communal cookbook by Mrs. Karl Slartman. Recipe is as follows: 1 C. rice 1 t. salt 2 T. butter 2 T. sugar 1 C. water few blanched almonds 5 C. milk stick of cinnamon Using double boiler, add rice to salted boiling water and butter. Boil 10 to 15 min. or until water disappears. Add the milk, sugar and cinnamon stick. Boil slowly until rice is tender.
