I also was genuinely confused when I got that email…..Pretty sure it is the new name for regional but I thought that they were going to one a year…..

Yes. The thing about the regional conferences was they weren't. Many speakers were not from the region, which kinda sucked for actual math teachers from the region who would have their talks rejected every year. I'm not bitter!!
