IDK and i am not gonna pay 10 usd to find out, but putting the DLL into ghidra and just, very lazily checking that function it seems to set a single variable and then calls a return and thats it. my theory is that this is used for GMLive which is another (paid, this one costs 30 usd this time!) extension by the same developer that lets u reload parts of the games code without needing to fully recompile the game each time (deltarune takes a long time to compile btw), the "sync" might just mean it is syncing the current shader change u are doing through GMLive, so this function is most likely for debugging purposes only so it should hopefully have 0 in game effect, but i cant make any promises on that, as i havent tested chapter 5 through deltarunner yet. in case ur wondering, this function is just fully stubbed out on macos as this library doesnt support mac, if the deltarune team can just casually stub it out on macos without any consequences, its probably fine."
