Lovely way to pay tribute to the 65th anniversary of what is arguably the UKs most important locomotive class. Freight, passenger, RHTT and test trains, the #class37 has done it all, and continues to do so 65 years later. This is 37501 working the 11.10 from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster.

At the same time, the fact that a purely diesel class is so widely used just goes to show how poor our rate of electrification has been since the 1960s. It simply isn't viable to invest in new build electric traction.
