on bluesky, unlike twitter of old, verification isn't centralised anyone can verify anyone else - you then decide who you trust to do so bsky itself trusts a small number of publications and Microsoft - and shows these in the ui mu.social trusts a larger group of verifiers, including npmx

Why this specific person? They probably got verified legitimately. Verified accounts usually just mean they are who they say they are with proof, that's about it.
