Dan Lockton @danlockton.com · Jun 24 I've long thought that confusion between power (W) and energy (kWh) in popular media feeds a general misunderstanding. We've all heard "kilowatts per hour" and things like that. Most everyday units don't work in that way (rate being the base unit, and then multiplying by time).

The infuriating thing is that it *shouldn't* work that way, but 1kWh is just a much more convenient unit for things like electricity bills than trying to do everything in blocks of 3.6MJ
The example above, of kWh/h, was something that CarbonCulture, a very clever startup (some years ago now) arrived at through research with users (I think), as something closer to what people understood more intuitively (whereas just using kW was confusing). This was for a large office building.
