An article with the title “New Plastic Masks Replace Sculpturing” claims “As fast as photography and almost as simple is a new process for making more accurate reproductions of head and bust than a sculptor can. Casts of heads can be made at low cost in 35 minutes. A new type of plastic material, invented by Miss Harriet Meyer, Is the secret of the process. This plastic substance, with which she covers the entire head of the subject, accurately reproduces every strand of hair and minute line. Yet the material does not stick to the subject. No oil is put on the face. The subject can assume any expression he may wish to have reproduced. The plastic material is applied with a brush and a brass cage pressed in place. The mask Is then dried with an electric blower. After drying the mask, still flexible, is removed. It is then used to produce the finished head in plaster of Paris or bronze. It is claimed the plastic material does not cause discomfort to the subject and no tubes are necessary to permit the subject to breathe easily.” The photos look horrifying; highlights include the person mid cast smoking through the (presumably flammable) “plastic” material and the “brass cage” which looks like a gibbet crossed with a medical external fixator.
A photograph of a BMW painted an unusual (custom?) sky blue and bear the license plate RI EKO, which is probably coincidentally the name of actress Rieko Miura, who played the character Chizuko Honda/Kobayashi, wife of detective Yosuke Kobayashi in the series MPD Psycho, and whose abduction and murder is the exciting incident for the entire show as well as the reason for the psychological break that causes Kobayashi to develop the multiple personalities (including analytical Kazuhiko Amamiya) that make himself the titular “Multiple Personality Detective: Psycho”. It’s a tenuous joke.

A large bottle of sugar syrup by the condiments at a till (in a pizza place in a Korean airport) that is clearly marked “sugar syrup” has a red sign on it that says “It’s not hand sanitiser, It’s sugar syrup.” The “It’s not hand sanitiser” is underlined, which makes me read it in a very tired voice.

A slender actor stands in a makeup trailer with a hatchet embedded in his back. It is a rig strapped to him over a grey undershirt, it has a patch of silicone “skin” around the blade so the wound can be seen through the hole in the eventual top-layer of costume. The hatchet attaches to the rig by sliding into a square brass peg, this allows it to be attached through the costume which makes dressing waaaay easier. Handle and blade were 3d modelled and printed by me. The harness was made by Dan Gomer or Elliot Lidgey, the skin was run and painted by Beth Leigh, I think.

Pig, a 8.5yo French bulldog lies in the dappled sunlight coming through our kitchen window. In the background grape hyacinths bloom below a rosemary bush. His expression makes him seem put-upon. He is not. Life is easy for Pig. He really is helping, though, as moral support.
