🕊️☮️🕊️ NW Oregon mostly harmless fotos are mine except for reposts

Big thunderclouds rolling in over the Willamette river with a fair amount of lightning and thunder, but not as much rain as we would like. Right around sunset ☮️
The new growth on a Japanese maple is a brilliant scarlet red and is spreading out over the top of the green leaves that make up the old growth on the tree ☮️
A lightly clouded sky to the west shortly after sunset. Some of the clouds are picking up more light than others as the sky darkens from the top down ☮️
A cluster of rose blossoms that started out pink and then fade to white as they unfold, with a background of their own green leaves ☮️
A currently empty, but hopefully full this coming fall, salmon spawning bed on the Santiam river near Gates, Oregon. It’s a warm sunny day and some of the sunlight is filtering through trees, lighting up some of the water in the bed and as well as a few stray branches laying along the banks of the river ☮️
A much smaller variety of a Torch Lily than I have seen in the past and it appears to be all yellow. The kind I’ve seen in the past is five times the size and multicolored, but I really like the simplicity and size of this ☮️ 🌱
A small climbing rose, blooms are only a few inches across at most, but they have a nice bit of color and some are 10’ up in the air 🌱☮️
Canna Indica throwing out it’s red blooms like fireworks ❤️🤍⚽️🤍❤️
What i believe is a green and black spotted cucumber beetle making its way across a yellow, Creeping Water Primrose bloom that is surrounded by its own green leaves down by the river ☮️
Looking south across the Willamette River just after sunset on a warm summer evening. Fish are jumping out of the water that is reflecting the pastel colors of the sky and clouds, as well as the trees that line the opposite bank ☮️

This Pennyroyal is growing under the chicory plants on the riverside and is only about 6 inches tall. There are four ball shaped clusters of white buds and flowers with red tips in different stages of bloom. The bottom cluster is already starting to fade. The top ball of brand new buds less than a half inch across ☮️
There are seven very large, older rose bushes along the side of the garage here. All producing lots of large flowers. This one started out with pink edges on white petals and eventually turned almost all pink 🌱 ☮️
The blue in blue Chicory blooms are still popping down along the Willamette River. Their light blue petals become darker blue as they reach the center which has even darker blue and white tendrils in it ☮️

Comfortably warm summer afternoon on the banks of the Willamette River near Salem Oregon. It’s a bit rocky on this side of the river, but a few plants growing out into the water, while the other side of the river is lined with trees and other summer greenery. Pretty strong winds at this time, stirring the surface of the water. Several white puffy clouds, being swept over the trees and the river with the blue sky as background ☮️

A very light pink rose with a rosebud just up to the left of it. It’s own green leaves, providing the background ☮️

A little squawking going on between a few crows perched in the top of a weeping willow tree that has lost the leaves on its upper limbs, leaving most of the picture in silhouette on this cloudy day. Some green leaves in the bottom right corner ⚽️☮️⚽️
It’s a very unusually cool and cloudy day in July. Looking to the south as the fog lifts in the Santiam Canyon. A few trees on the near side of the canyon, catching some light, while most of the rest of the canyon is obscured by fog to varying degrees☮️
Crapemyrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) is in bloom as it presents a large cluster of white and yellow flowers. Cone-shaped cluster, about a foot tall, a little over 6” inches across the bottom. Some green leaves mixed in at the bottom and a lot of blue sky above ☮️
Not quite sunset at 8:08 PM. Looking through the trees in silhouette as the sun and its reflection light up the willamette river. Long shadows with sunlight on the grass in between, as well as lighting the green trees and a bit of sky on the opposite bank of the river ☮️
A butterfly-bush bloom that’s about halfway bloomed. The open blooms are a light purple-ish color while the unopened buds are more of a dark red. The light green leaves of the bush are lit up behind the bloom 🌱 ☮️
Some thin clouds hanging out over the trees on the west bank of the Willamette River. Both the clouds and the trees are reflecting in the river, while a piece of a log and several rocks are popping out of the river near the east bank on a nice summer afternoon ☮️
After watering the old roses along the driveway this morning. One of the new buds on the pink rosebush, just starting to open, with little beads of water catching the light on the bud, as well as the green leaves around it ☮️
Looking up at clouds being pushed to the west by strong winds at 8 o’clock in the morning. A little bit of blue sky, peeking through and a few trees in silhouette across the bottom as well as another across the top ☮️

Some of the largest rose blooms I have ever seen, over seven inches across with a very soft pink around the edges of the white petals. A nice fragrance as well ☮️
Daylilies out here on the walk today. they are mostly bright yellow with a burgundy reddish center and thin green leaves ☮️

A neighbor’s purple hydrangeas have a very nice, partially shaded location. A handful of blossoms have grown together and are flanked on all sides by green leaves ☮️
A stretch of rapids on the Santiam river as it moves through a park in Lyons, Oregon. Some large wet rocks on this bank of the river, with some big, rolling rapids beyond that. Large trees and summer greenery line both sides of the river under cloudy skies ☮️
Cyanocitta stelleri (stellers jay) perched about 50 feet up in a large fir tree a little before sunset. Near Gates, Oregon ☮️
Southern Catalpa has a lot of nice white flowers with splashes of red and yellow in the center, sitting on top of its green leaves. Under lightly clouded skies ☮️
A Purple-loosestrife blooming among the greenery down by the riverside on a warm summer day ☮️
Looking to the northwest on a mostly cloudy, warm summer day. The Willamette River is taking its circuitous route north to the Columbia after passing through Salem, Oregon. The trees that line both sides of the river, as well as the clouds in the sky above, all reflecting nicely off the surface of the water ☮️
Baby Sage (Salvia microphylla) has small, but vividly colored, red and white flowers with light green leaves ☮️
A little too much sky up there to include the river in the frame. Weather moving in from the west today. Shifting clouds filled the sky providing too many choices. this was a little section of that with the tops of several large trees in silhouette along the bottom of the pic ☮️
A couple of field bindweed blossoms just a little over an inch across with pink around the edges and a white center. Also a very small white anemone(?) as a bonus just above them. All in among the shadows left by the tall reeds along the Willamette River on warm summer day ☮️

Japanese Stewartia presents as a small tree, about ten feet tall, with 4” white flowers that have yellow tendrils with red tips in the center and fringe on the edges of the white petals. Green leaves provide the background ☮️

Just barely got my feet wet, standing in the wake of a fishing boat moving upriver. Lots of wispy clouds overhead, with trees lining both sides of the Willamette River on a warm summer afternoon ☮️
Looking south from Gates, Oregon. Heavy cloud cover moving to the east, as sunlight breaks through to light up part of the southern ridge of the Santiam Canyon and a few of the nearby trees down in the lower right corner ☮️

Luckily I went outside in time to catch this multicolor sunset in gold, orange, red, and pink. all with blue as a background. A stand of tall conifers in silhouette along the bottom. Also very lucky to have such a short walk ☮️
A California Scrub Jay, with a blue cap wings and tail, some gray around the eyes and shoulders, and a white breast scoping out the backyard from a fence post. With a background of green grass ☮️

What I think is a Himalayan cedar, on the left and then on the right, sunlight back lighting a few of the maple branches newly formed leaves as the sun sets. Under slightly hazy skies ☮️
