Comic page WIP from Chapter 1 of Someone to Watch Over Me. Haseo pulls on Forseth’s arms, telling him to not “be a grump.” Forseth responds, annoyed, “I’m not being a grump… they’re not my friends. And they give me a headache.” In the following panels, Forseth hears the thoughts (telepathy) of the soldiers around him, talking about the rumors they’ve heard about him.

She reaches over and turns Forseth’s face toward her, which confuses him. Crissa leans over and kisses his ear, increasing Forseth’s flustered expression.
Haseo and Forseth walk out from a different room. Vycer falls off the couch with a thud, and Elgret is half turned to face the two kids. Haseo is excited to see Elgret and rushes up to him to give him a hug. Elgret exclaims, “Hey! Look at you two, all squeaky clean.” Forseth responds with “All thanks to—oh is he dead?” Vycer grumbles from the floor “Sorry to disappoint, but I’m still very much alive.” Forseth, now standing off to the side next to a crouched Elgret and Haseo hanging around his neck, says “Damn.” Vycer points at him and shouts, “LANGUAGE, FORSETH.” Haseo realizes that they should leave Elgret and Vycer alone… so in the last panel, he grabs Forseth’s arm and pulls him out and says, “Let’s go outside.”

Forseth comments saying that you “just gotta know the right spot.” Keits mumbles, “Stoooop… they’re… sensitive… mhmm…”

Forseth: (a small smile appears on his face) People are shitty. (He pushes hair out of her face) They believe the stupidest shit. Crissa: Like how you eat people? Forseth: … yes. Crissa: Is that true, by the way? Forseth: (he snorts) No. Sisco and I had returned from a mission, and I happened to be covered in blood. (She blinks) Things got… bad in that mission. None of the blood was mine, even though I was hurt... Okay, maybe some of the blood was mine. But the point is that people were staring, and so… I grabbed a piece of meat and bit into it. (He snorts) Crissa: (she smiles and tries to stifle a laugh) Why?? Forseth: Because people were staring and making stupid comments, so I thought I’d lay into it a bit… and that’s how people started that rumor. (He makes an “ew” face) Contrary to popular belief, I do not actually eat meat from people. Some demons do, but not my family. Eugh. I’m just as disappointed that the rumor still comes up from time to time. Crissa: (she laughs) That’s unfortunately hilarious. Forseth: The worst consequence though? I had food poisoning for a week after eating that raw meat.

All 3 are commanders in the Alliance. Crissa (pointing to Forseth) - FMC. HUGE crush on each other for like. Over a year. A lot of STWOM is about them. Arrows from Loren, Gin, and Bertoly, friends in the Legion. Guignard also points to her. Childhood “friends”. Written in red: we don’t like him. On the right, Brek and Keits. These guys are first lieutenants in the legion. Crissa is in their unit. They’re good friends of Haseo. They will have their own side story.
