The question is why does the administration want to prohibit state regulation? What federal AI systems will inappropriately monitor or exert influence over state regulations and activities?

I am trying to understand this huge push of AI by the Trump/Musk government. If voting machines go online and they gather all of our data, it surely will be "the end of the world as we know it."

Do they even attempt to offer a reason for this? No qualifiers at all? A blanket "no take backs" policy on any emerging tech, much less AI, is wildly irresponsible. Good grief.
Odd GOP wants the States to regulate/be responsible for just about everything else (female reproductive care, abortions, reconstruction from natural disasters, etc) but not AI. Just look at all the donations to GOP made by cos dev AI. $$$ is the problem in our government. 🤬
Isn't it a silent, gradual putsch if the federal echelon of government of a decidedly federalistic polity restricts lawmaking initiatives by individual states?
