When you read the 2nd after the 1st, something really shifts about the tone/context esp. given lines like this, "...real boyfriends can cheat on you, lie to you, scam you out of money, and be physically violent. 'It’s a little bit tragic,' Jia says. 'Because the reality of dating is just too ugly.'"
