These startups will either go belly up soon or sell themselves to a fossil fuel company for greenwashing. carbon-pulse.com/530652

Can’t they just support Kelp forest restoration?
The exit-risk point is real, but public R&D alone moves slowly. Middle path: government-run measurement and verification, plus rules barring credits that offset ongoing fossil emissions. Who verifies the numbers matters most.

What if a company figures out how to make money doing mCDR? Profit is to a company as Gibbs free energy is to a chemical reaction. Negative free energy means a reaction is spontaneous. Profit means a company can grow and do more.
