007 First Light is exactly what I wanted from a Bond game as a longtime fan of the series. You'll hear a lot of reviews saying that it's a great mix of Hitman and Uncharted...and it's true. In First Light, IOI sticks to a proven formula that doesn't change the face of gaming-but I don't think that was their goal. It's just good, old-fashioned fun. I do hope to see more innovation in the inevitable future titles, especially regarding gadgetry and story beats (a lot of the main story developments felt a bit predictable). There's a lot to chew on in First Light, and I can't wait to try my hand at all the chapter-specific challenges and see what IOT's postgame support entails.
No matter your riches or connection, death is not something you can avoid but merely prolong. Perhaps all of our characters' connections to influence and capital are the reasons why the desire to live is so strong? Would the less connected lower class have the same fight for survival? Or would a giant rock be the exit from an oppressive system that they've been waiting for? Or is it in our human nature to survive! Death is incomprehensible and unknowable until you fall into it. That veil of unknowing is, even while facing the end of civilization, un-step-innable. If the opportunity presents itself to survive, would you go? Or would you accept your fate?
