Two small human figures can be seen among the stones, giving a sense of the huge scale. The surrounding fells rise in layered shades of grey-blue behind the circle, partially obscured by mist. Above, a wide sky of swirling grey and blue cloud is rendered in sweeping strokes. The overall palette contrasts the intense bright green of the grass against the cool greys of stone, mountain and sky.
