I'm noticing as I'm growing older I'm enjoying books with adult protagonists. I loved that Daphne was older, a mom, and ADHD! I instantly connected to Daphne and Silas when he showed up. They were both funny and cared for each other. Their romance was so sweet and I need to see more in the sequel (don't talk to me about the cliffhanger). Taylor Coan narrated really well, easily allowing me to navigate all the different characters. The action and magic system was really good - It flowed easily,

Sometimes it’s difficult to get diagnosed or like in fantasy - there isn’t a word for it. I look for how the characters interact with themselves, the world around them, and how they view their disability. I want to be able to see myself in the characters. If I’m able to say “same” after seeing them deal with fatigue. Using mobility aids, how ADHDers manage day to day life - I want it all! In fantasy it’s harder but you can get good rep there - they way they speak about it, how it affects their daily lives. Under that is the line and arrow
