“Based on the information we’ve uncovered through our public records practice, we see a clear pattern: anti-borders activists, supported by local politicians, are escalating protests into violent obstructions that endanger federal personnel and disrupt enforcement operations,” said Mateo Forero, FAIR’s director of investigations. “The Insurrection Act provides the legal framework for decisive federal action. Its historical application shows that proactive deployment prevents escalation and reaffirms federal supremacy on immigration as set forth in the U.S. Constitution. Without it, we risk more deaths, civil unrest, and fractured national unity.”
“The hot spots of resistance featured in our report are not spontaneous protests. They are coordinated assaults on our elected federal representatives’ authority to set immigration policy,” said Dale L. Wilcox, FAIR’s executive director and general counsel. “The Insurrection Act is a proven tool that empowers the President to deploy federal forces when states refuse to uphold the law. Hesitation only invites more chaos, loss of life, and emboldens anti-borders radicals to defy federal authority. President Trump must demonstrate resolve and use the Act to protect our sovereignty and restore the rule of law.”
