I once made a docker swarm like some years ago, it was lots of fun. I would make a kibernetws cluster tbh, then you can install all kinds of stuff for home automation and more.

wire them up to a small battery and a speaker, make them make chicken noises at random. Drop them in hidden places around a uni campus and then wait for the chaos.
