Mohammad Nazeer Paktiawal was a father of six children who came to the U.S. after fighting alongside the U.S. Special Forces in Afghanistan for over a decade. We’re investigating his sudden death while in ICE custody. The ongoing abuse of people being held in detention must end.

I hate to nitpick language because your work is so much more important than that but it’s gotta be “the illegal detention of lawful US residents should end”. Stopping abuses in detention is like pressure on a gaping wound, not a cure; we all agree the goal is no concentration camps at all.

Courageous, loyal to the United States, Family man (father of 6) lost to all of us, but especially his wife and children!! This evil, gutless, corrupt administration has to be ended, the sooner, the better!

If true, this is a tragic and deeply troubling case. A man who risked his life alongside U.S. forces and left behind six children deserves a full, transparent investigation. Regardless of politics, a system that fails those who stood with America must answer for it. Accountability matters.
