A screenshot of the notes app of something I wrote today, states: You know that feeling when… you were told your whole life that family is everything. and you’re made to believe that this group of people will love you and stick up for you no matter what, simply because you were born into the same family. and you just believe that they’re good people, too, right? because what bad person would just be there for someone else no matter what!? and then your cousin, who is like your big brother, gets wasted one night, has a fight with his girlfriend, and decides to shoot himself in the head and your entire reality is flipped upside down. nobody will admit it was suicide. nobody talks about anything. you start to see the fragments and then, 2 days before the 3rd anniversary of your cousin committing suicide, your other cousin, who is like your little sister, gets into a car accident driving home from a friends’ house one night and dies. nothing is the same. and now you’re laying in bed, on the anniversary of their deaths and you’re thinking about how everyone in your family is fucking awful and the ones that died were two of the only good ones… no? only me? okay great.
