“I went through a tough battle mentally as a rookie and in my first couple of years, not understanding the business of hockey, to be completely honest with you. Not understanding the way things work with, OK, you're the guy producing the most, you’re playing the top minutes and you’re top scorer of this team, but you're not getting called up. But I didn't understand that. And again, I was a kid. So I took work and brought it home all the time and I couldn't stop thinking about hockey. I couldn't disconnect from anything, and it was just negative thoughts, negative thoughts. I got some help and it's important.
To the Anaheim Ducks organization and all the amazing Ducks fans-thank you for everything. Wearing this jersey and serving as captain was a privilege that l'll always be proud of. Thank you for the support, the memories, and for making my family and me feel at home from day one. Anaheim will always mean a lot to us. Wishing the organization, my teammates, and the fans nothing but the very best. Good luck, and thank you for everything. 🦆💛

“I've always been very diligent in staying in tune with the work that I started over the process of four years, and continuation with different groups has been ongoing as well. The organization, here in the community, has been very involved and participated in a number of little activities. I'm looking forward to doing that once again.”
“Very tight group. It’s really fun to be part of this team because that’s what a team sport is about, really. A team sport is so good because I have a good friend, Barbora Krejčíková, she’s a tennis player. She won Wimbledon and she basically plays on her own. Sometimes, it can be much more difficult when you’re not in the group or someone can cheer you up and stuff like that. I kind of got to know that side of it a little bit, too, so that’s why I like to play in the team sport. Guys are around and if you just do your best and work hard in the practices, the guys really appreciate it. They always got your back.”
“It was obviously just an awesome feeling to make the playoffs for me, for the fans, this guy (motions to Jackson LaCombe), all of us that have been here. And I think after that first game, even maybe in the second period…You could just feel—that game ended, we lost Game 1, but the feeling on the team was it was our first taste of it, and we knew that this series was there for us if we played the right way.”
“Unreal. Unreal. We had a big dog. We had a really good team against us and all credit to them. The last game, they came out humming. They showed us that they are a really, really good team and we wanted to make sure that in front of our fans, that we're going to play a really good game. I'm just so proud of the boys because it was a really, really measured game. Throughout the season, sometimes those third periods, we let it slip. But today, I feel like it all kind of collided together and we really showed our maturity. I'm just so proud of this team because it was a hell of game by them.”
“It’s a game of mistakes, not just penalties. Whether you miss a check or (a) guy beats you up the ice, it feels like we always have the next guy up mentality where someone's there to block a shot or make a play like Vieler did to get us back into the game. It’s a group that doesn't point fingers and I think that's a big thing. We just kind of bond in that adversity, like we have all year, and it actually kind of brings us closer together. So we handle it well.”

TNT BROADCAST UPDATE HIGHLIGHTS PLAYOFF RACES The NHL announced national broadcast information for two games on TNT, which impact Stanley Cup Playoffs positioning. Wednesday, April 1: Ducks at Sharks originally scheduled for 7 p.m. PT will now begin at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast nationally, exclusively by TNT. Wednesday, April 8: Sabres at NY Rangers will now be broadcast nationally on TNT, with the exception of the New York market, where the game will air locally on MSG Network. TNT's coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET.

Thank you for loving us, for cherishing John as a capital, & all the love sent our way today. John gave everything he had to this team for 17 seasons and I couldn't be more proud of him today. It wouldn't be genuine of me to leave here as if this is just a business & John is a transaction. Our hearts were broken last night. We are so excited & thankful for this opportunity with Anaheim - the boys & Bella are so excited to be Ducks. Bella's bathing suit collection is already ready for this & I'm counting down the seconds until we are in California with John. I have no words for how grateful I am for all of you. One day I will go through all of your messages when my heart can handle it. Love you all, thank you for everything
