But the sentence that matters is: "I am now supporting Democrats because they are the only vehicle available to stop this." Without that, it's just remorse cosplay. The fire is still burning. Regret is not a plan.

Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was the only Democrat to break with his party and vote against the resolution, in keeping with his vocal stance in support of Israel and reluctance to place limits on the president's authority to act in its defense.

Say what we will about how deluded the participants were and the insurrection that ensued but even Jan 6th was more than simply voicing displeasure with the election result. It was promoted as "Stop the Steal". It had a very specific and tragic objective. The "Hands Off" and "No Kings Day" demonstrate an abject failure of imagination, vision, and concrete purpose. Lastly, they demonstrate how many progressives are also guilty of sanitizing MLK by being so concerned with being "non-violent" that they forget the rest of the phrase and strategy was "... civil disobedience".
