Our planet, scarred from their war, has somehow gained sentience and is nudging its inhabitants toward an awakening. The land is comprised of many smaller continents and larger islands. Some are full of temperate forests. Of note, there is a prismatic, yet stark, polar region to the north; a maze-like shrubland in the eastern hemisphere, with mobile foliage and confusing landscapes; and an archipelago to the south, complete with a tidal leviathan. In more recent years, individuals have been drawn to particular sites of power scattered across the planet, now worshiping natural forces as their new gods. These universal laws are given shrines. Yet some still search the heavens, waiting for the day when their names are spoken once more. Amorphous Emotion. The Vishada has advantage to avoid being grappled, stunned, or knocked prone. Gloom Immune. All creatures of the gloom are immune to the I conditions and effects of other gloom. ACTIONS 1------------------ 1 None. The Vishadah takes no additional action on its turn other than moving closer to its target. I LEGENDARY ACTIONS The Vishada can take 3 legendary actions each round, using I the options below. It can take only one legendary action at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Trishna The trishna is the physical embodiment of longing and desire. It constantly thirsts yet is never quenched. Ever jealous and always possessive, the longer it is allowed to cling to a creature, the harder it is to ever break free. A creature always views the trishna in one of two ways. Either it looks like a perfected version of the thing they want most in life or it appears as something utterly repulsive. Both iterations have the same effect. A creature within its grasp can rarely look away. Vihimsa The vihimsa is a creature of pure malice and cruelty. It appears in the form of a storm of elemental energies with angry, vengeful eyes staring out in every direction. It seeks out any and all creatures that appear weak or broken and its end goal for any within its grasp is complete destruction. So intent is the vihimsa on spreading its poisonous influence on others that it will often go out of its way to target as many different creatures as possible in a short period of time. This is seen as a fun game to the vihimsa and a perfectly adequate way to pass the time. Vishadah The vishadah is the physical embodiment of depression. In its natural form, it is little more than an amorphous blob of sentient emotions, devoid of purpose. Whenever a creature happens to come near enough to be detected by its tremorsense, the vishadah locks on and begins lumbering toward this potential new friend. From that day on, the vishadah will always know the location of that target, so long as it is on the same plane of existence. The form it takes upon encountering a sentient creature is a distorted self-image of how the creature believes itself to look. A vishadah looks only for companionship in a lost and lonely world. It does not realize its own destructive nature and cannot willingly acknowledge it is doing anyone harm. Once it senses a creature, it will begin a slow pursuit to find it. It’s wild to me that we’re living in a society where: Rounding up people, separating them from families, and shipping them off is not only defensible, but required. Individuals can be snatched purely based on how they look. Grabbing the wrong person is fine, so long as it’s “close enough.” Enforcement to prevent escalation leads toescalation—an Intended Consequence. Habeas Corpus is declared irrelevant. Severe financial penalties are promised for officials who don’t assist in the arrests. No jury trials or testifying of the accused are allowed. Compensation is given to the arresting officer regardless of guilt or innocence, sometimes including a promotion. Aiding a targeted individual could result in fines or jail time. Affidavits, not judicial warrants, are used. And they tell me that I’m actually reading about the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850. But I point out the window and say, “It’s the same damn thing.”
