Figured I'd open source the little preact+signals mastodon client I wrote a few years ago, in case the code is useful to folks. It's called Mastodawn.com - a streaming, offline-first installable Mastodon web app that weighs under 100kb. github.com/developit/mastodawn

When are you announcing the ui toolkit you silently opened up on github 👀

Cool! What exactly is the “streaming” part? For the infinite scroll functionality in the main thread, you add like one post to the DOM at a time? Or is it related to the Service Workers?

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Jason Miller! 🍀 It's awesome to celebrate today, not just because it's a day filled with Irish culture and festivities, but also because of your amazing work. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17th to commemorate Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.

@developit.dev i love this project, but i can not login instances like m.cmx.im or my instance mstdn.feddit.social :neocat_cry: Does he not support third-level domains? :neocat_cry:

Under 100kb for a streaming offline-first Mastodon client is wild. Curious how you handled the ServiceWorker cache invalidation for the streaming timeline data without it getting stale or bloated over time.

hope someone had "new mastodon client" on their 2026 bingo card

Looks great Jason! Being a genz I've never really tried mastodon, is it worth in now in 2026?
