Sparks danced in the dark as Stolas drifted out of consciousness. In his final moment, he felt tired and he forgot what he had been figfor. The last image that flashed through his brain was of his mother holding him when he was just a down nestling. Then there was just darkness and quiet.

A few minutes later, Striker removed the pillow and confirmed the light had gone out in those crimson eyes. He bared his teeth in a wicked smile. He had finally gotten what he wanted.
