I am deeply concerned about what we are hearing about an Iran “deal,” being pushed by some voices in the administration. President Trump’s decision to strike Iran was the most consequential decision of his second term. He was right to do so, and we achieved extraordinary military results—including destroying all of their missiles & drones and sinking their entire navy. If the result of all that is to be an Iranian regime—still run by Islamists who chant “death to America”—now receiving billions of dollars, being able to enrich uranium & develop nuclear weapons, and having effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake. The details are still coming out—and I pray the early reports are wrong—but the fact that Biden’s Rob Malley is praising the deal is not encouraging. CNN reports that one of the suspects left a suicide note at their family home, with-law enforcement sources telling the outlet that the document contained “writings about racial pride,” but law enforcement provided no additional details on the contents. NBC News reported Tuesday that law enforcement is trying to authenticate a lengthy document potentially left behind by the suspects, saying that it contains hateful speech, including anti-Islamic and anti-Semitic sentiments. By Tuesday afternoon, more details emerged about the shooters’ motivations during another law enforcement briefing. Mark Remily from the FBI’s San Diego bureau confirmed to reporters that the two suspects met online and that a manifesto had been recovered by authorities, saying of the pair, “They didn’t discriminate on who they hated. It covered a wide aspect of races and religions.” He continued, “What I can say is they definitely had a broad hatred towards a lot of folks.” According to the New York Post, a livestream video of the attack appeared to show the shooters wearing a Black Sun symbol, which is associated with Nazi Germany as well as an insignia for the “Atomwaffen Division,” which is a Neo-Nazi group. In the same video, one of the suspects’ guns has the phrase “race war now” written on it with a swastika drawn above it.
