Enzo and ruby were also mistreated by the pope yet they didn't become abusive,even if Cesare's case was " the abused became the abuser " it'll never justify his actions. He abused ruby mentally and physically,sold her in marriages,spread incestuous rumours about her and himself and did much worse.
