From the comments, I learned that there's a small but multiplying contingent for costuming at these shows, and some of the bands love it. Awesome. Targeting people for not wearing jeans and a band shirt is conformist bullshit.

I wear a full fursuit with a denim battle jacket on top to shows. Extra high heat! I went in the pit last time Thrill Kill Kult played in San francisco and not for long. I almost fainted, the floor was slick from spilled beer and my flat feet paws sent me on my ass. The crowd nicely helped me up.
