I really can't put into words what doesn't quite work for me in this finale. And still, at the end, I can't call it a bad ending. While Gooseworx said this show was intended more as a slice of life drama than a mystery, I think that direction was how a lot of the emotional impact got undercut, at least for me. I'll say I don't have quite the gripes a lot of people have with this. I don't mind that Caine comes back, I certainly do like character arcs that conclude internally once in a while. Most importantly, I don't think the movie being mainly about Jax was a mistake - if anything, it was the best way to go: in a world where the worst thing to happen is feeling unwelcome, Jax was the perfect angle to approach that idea. Additionally, most of the sequences involving his inner world were very well made and integrated.
