Fiber lines jack straight into the ports along his spine. His scream fractures into white noise as his mind is cracked open and pinned. Data pours out of him. Live market feeds tear across holo-screens. GRAVE-MELLBERG-TOSK stock plunges, shares freefalling. A hit list of GMT subsidiary logos blink into view, then start to turn red one by one as the hacks hit. Newsvid broadcasts are displayed on screens above the riotous hacker party. “—unprecedented breach—” “—assets frozen across three zones—” “—external sabotage confirmed—” Behind the anchors, the stats show a corporations annual financials dying live on holovid. The party only gets louder. A pvnk presents Phix and Clock with a gilt heartshaped case. Inside are patches for a pvnks threads. Each one is a hand-stitched badge of rebellion. A black heart stitched into a hot pink field. Across it, in golden thread: EAT THE RICH DINNER IS SERVED MOTHERFUCKERS When slapped onto jackets, vests or styleguard they lock in place. RCDs register them as a CARBON HEARTS digital artifact. Signed. Verified. A living receipt. Anyone who scans them will know. The CARBON HEARTS back you. You bled a megacorp in public. And you lived. In the background, Tosk convulses in the rig as another subsidiary company collapses and the crowd roars approval. The beat hammers the roof supports and the party goes on. Music pounds. Beyond the warehouse, the City of Cy keeps breathing its diseased final breaths - this is just one of a billion stories of life and death in this hellhole. Just another day at the office, choom.

One second later, two more partygoers follow - spurred by Vurt-fuelled hallucinations of angel wings and glowing ascension. They swan dive into the smog. There is no scream. Just the wind and they're gone.

**1d6 Camel Temperament Table** **1. Motherfucker** This camel remembers everything, especially slights. Spits often, bites occasionally, and requires persuasion to keep pace. Can smell Sandsquid. **2. Sad Sam** Moves like it’s carrying the weight of the world. Sighs audibly. Needs frequent encouragement or bribes (dried fruit, soothing words). Snores like a freight train. **3. Princess Perky** Unusually chipper for a desert beast. Chews noisily and constantly, spits at flies and insects with unnerving precision, and tends to wander off toward interesting smells or shiny things. **4. Ol' Reliable** The ideal mount. Ignores distractions, endures hardship without complaint, and quietly steals food from your saddlebags when you aren’t looking. **5. Brave Sir Robin** Flinches at shadows, gusts of wind, or its own reflection. Must be calmed during storms, sudden noises, or nearby alien lifeforms. Farts nervously and often. **6. Yass Kween** Constantly tries to take the lead and move ahead of the group. Nudges other camels, side-eyes riders, and bites any challenges to its authority.
The east wall bears the carven phrase: “THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE”. Refuse is piled in front of the rest of the inscription which reads: “FROM THE FLESH.”
