ohh wow, and of course before Doom, it was Commander Keen, something about eveil vegetables, and I remember thinking it was cool that if you didn't touch the keyboard for 5 minutes, he sat down and went to sleep.

PC Review magazine (UK) February '94, the cover discs were Cakewalk Pro and Doom, next day at school I'm talking with a mate about this amazing violent shooter, I couldn't even remember the name, I'd not played anything like it especailly on a 286 PC.

We had a teacher at our school who allowed us to install Doom shareware on 4 of the machines, we would take turns playing on Friday's after school. Not all of us kids had computers, so that was good of him. Guess he knew we'd probably learn a little about networking in the process too 🤣

In 2020 I bought Doom Classic Complete then eventually almost the entire anthology in the following months and have never looked back. Thank you id Software for 35 years of greatness. Thank you Romero and co. for revolutionizing games.
