What I want people to know is we secured millions of private philanthropy to host a month long Folklife Festival on the mall, "The Festival of Festivals". Was going to feature well known festivals, think Burning Man, Farm Aid, Grand Ole Oprey etc. as well as smaller local and regional festivals from across the U.S. and territories. Goal was to feature truly the best and most beautiful creative expression in music, dance, arts and craft traditions, food, community etc. Can't name names but plan was to have headliners every night for free concerts.... Think the types of names who might be affiliated with the aforementioned large festivals. Stars were willing to perform because was under banner of Smithsonian. It all had to all be scrapped bc the administration would not release permits to host on the mall. The money went elsewhere, but our nation was robbed of what would have been a once in a generation cultural moment.

Europe has given Kyiv money on two conditions: find more manpower and launch an offensive. For several months now, Ukraine's recruitment centres have been actively hunting down draft evaders, even in Kyiv. That wasn't the case before. All the talk of imminent demobilisation is merely an information campaign designed to reduce the number of deserters. Ukraine has, more or less, managed to assemble an assault force. The strikes on our oil refineries are not the objective, but a means to an end. They are only one part of a broader plan. Add fuel shortages to existing frontline logistics problems, and you create a threat to the supply of every Russian force grouping. The "Hornet" drones have proven their effectiveness, and yet their use has declined somewhat recently. This suggests the enemy has shifted to stockpiling strike assets. A campaign of mass disinformation has already begun. The enemy is creating false information threats in order to force us to redeploy our troops. At the same time, no real counteroffensive actions are taking place. The enemy is analysing our reactions and drawing conclusions. If I were making decisions for the enemy, I would launch the counteroffensive in the second half of July. Concentrated strikes on Russian oil refineries would worsen the fuel crisis and fuel panic among the population. Once fuel shortages peaked, I would significantly increase the use of "Hornet"-type drones. Frontline logistics would become a game of Russian roulette, and our force groupings would lose part of their combat potential.

The candidates who said hard things about rent, about who pays for what, about Gaza, they won. The triangulators lost. 4. Cost of living is everything. Everything else is wallpaper. 5. The middle is not a strategy. It's an empty room. Voters reached past the establishment to grab someone who actually believes something. 6. Don't fear the base. Court it. The Democrats who ran from their own voters lost. The ones who ran toward them won. 7. If you want to lead a party you have to be willing to fight inside it. Mamdani didn't ask permission. He took the field. The lesson under the lessons: the country is tired of being managed. People want to be led.
