I've been writing a lot about luminous fungi recently, and now I need to tell you about the ghost fungus. It glows in the dark (white-blue light, but comes out green in photos!), it looks like oysters, and it'll give you the worst stomach cramps. Sweet lil' toxic shroom.

Native to southern Australia, it is reported by early colonists as significant in many Aboriginal cultures, with some using them in body decorations to intimidate enemies, others fashioning lanterns with luminous fungi, others yet destroying them on sight as evil omens.
