Sony are testing out 'dynamic pricing' on PlayStation Store, where it varies the pricing per customer. When you log in some prices go up. Crazy, this one will need regulation.

silly question, but does this have any bearing on where the account was made geographically or was this before / after a fresh testing account off the same connection leads one to question geoip db fails in the backend

But that sounds like a typical new-customer offer, doesn't it?

I'd say abolishment rather than regulation. We all know how well regulations work with multi billion dollar company. We need to start being harsh as hell to these companies. Vote for people who are gonna keep them on a short leash because they need to be heavily controlled or they'll screw gamers.

I think it would be pretty easy to win a false advertising claim with something like this, probably they'll stop showing prices to logged out users, which I would assume results in lower sales overall

I'll dynamically take my business elsewhere if this becomes the norm for PS. Worst practice ever, especially with Sony on how codes for PS games are no longer sold by other stores.

Dynamic Pricing is the 9th sin of modern companies. They are evil, thinking they can suck all the money out of players. Players NEED to respond! Don't buy that crap...No matter how much you want to play that specific game. Boycott on principle until they understand principles.
