a softly glitched marlowe drop. a loose, impasto oil in blazing color; coral, deep imperial violet, teal - every surface swirled, dripping. an ancient man's face fills the upper frame, serene, heavy-lidded; his brow & crown erupt upward into froth, bubbles; pearlescent spheres pouring off into a cosmos of stars & nebulae. his long beard melts downward in thick ropes & runnels of paint, dissolving into the landscape below - red-rock canyon, a waterfall, dark trees, a small domed structure - so his face & terrain are one continuous flow, no seam between the man & the world. the eye furthest from the viewer is subtly malformed, dimmer & less resolved than the near eye. scattered through the frame, small round pearls stay intact & discrete. a faint chromatic split, grain ride over the whole plate; the corruption sits heaviest in the beard & turned eye, lightest on the pearls. no text appears on the image. the title, given alongside, is 'i am'.
